received his first cello lessons from Marguerite Hauchecorne at the Conservatory in Courbevoie. When nine years old he was awarded the Diplôme de Fin d'Etudes and started giving his first public concerts.
He then entered the Degré Supérieur (2003) at CNR Paris and pursued his solo studies with Dominique de Williencourt, Raphaël Pidoux and Philippe Muller. In 2010 he received his Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures and entered the class of Tilmann Wick at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.
Stanislas has received the advice of David Geringas, Frans Helmerson, Natalia Gutman, Arto Noras, Jérôme Pernoo, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Jens Peter Maintz...
He is currently pursuing his postgraduate studies with Leonid Gorokhov in Hannover.
Stanislas Kim is laureate of the George Enescu International Competition, the International Brahms Competition in Austria and the International Hindemith Competition in Berlin. He received in 2011 the Maggini Foundation Award and a special prize for his interpretation of Bach's Cello Suites.
In the same year he won the Gundlach Music Prize in Hannover. Since then he holds a scolarship of the Gundlach Foundation, of the Peter Fuld Foundation and of the Ottilie-Selbach-Redslob Stiftung.
He is 2014 laureate (together with German pianist Marie Rosa Günter) of the 8th Swedish International Competition and 2016 laureate of the 12e Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon.
The press praises in his playing « a brilliant technique, combined to an overwhelming musical impulse […] a flawless intonation and a bow full of fire […] a fascinating auditory experience ».
Stanislas Kim plays a cello of the Vuillaume school, on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
He has been invited to perform at numerous festivals (such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Bachtage Würzburg or the Grieg Festival in Bergen), and enjoys performances as a soloist and chamber musician in various european and asian countries.
In May 2023 Stanislas Kim was awarded the first price and special price in the International Cello Competition in Klaipėda (Lithuania).
